The National Carbon Capture Center (NCCC), managed and operated by Southern Company for the U.S. Department of Energy, launched a new digital brochure highlighting how it drives innovation for a clean energy future.
The brochure proudly showcases Southern Company’s significant achievements at the NCCC and the benefits the test facility offers to industry sponsors, technology developers and other key stakeholders. Forward-thinking energy industry leaders share their success stories and describe how the NCCC has answered the call to help the U.S. lead the world in next-generation carbon management solutions.
Located in Wilsonville, Alabama at Alabama Power’s Plant Gaston, the NCCC recently reached a historic milestone of 150,000 technology testing hours. During this period, the NCCC’s highly specialized team successfully pilot-tested more than 80 unique technologies, reducing the projected cost of carbon capture from fossil-based power generation by more than 40%.
